    Tinnie ID

OK...bought these from a forum member a while back and just decided to identify and label then today. Well, got out my 4 Manions books and started thumbing. No luck unless I just missed them all. I'm certain I have seen #'s 2 & 3 before.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Tom

Your #1 is fairly scarce and should command a premium to the serious
      tinnie collector.

        Thanks

        John,
Is it listed in the Manions books. Its possible I missed it. My eyes were getting blurry after the first two books.

I cant see it in my Manions books, however it is listed in Tieste with a value of 30 Euros ( values are a couple of years out of date now though )

            Tom,
I know what you mean, it's a lot of material to go through.

              Stuart,
Yes, the prices in these guides are really outdated.
Hopefully Tieste & Manions will be doing updates to their documentation.

                Book update

I don't have my Manions books in front of me but as I recall they are very outdated. I don't use them as as price guide obviously but just to identify. I can't imagine that Manions will be updating them but it would be nice considering that tinnies are still reasonably priced and fun to collect (just about given up on daggers ).
Is the Tieste book still available? If it gives values in Euros, at least its a start. Also is it written in english?

The prices are outdated but I kind of use them to help determine rarity. Then again, I just spent 20 minutes looking up the 4 of them and only found #3 which is in book 1 page 75. The other 3 I could not find the first time thru. Lots of times though when I go thru them again one will jump out. Time for an aspirin. They start to all look the same. Have a good day. Robert

                    Tom,

The two volumes of Tieste's tinnie guide must be out of print; I no longer see them listed on his site http://www.tieste.de/literatur/fachliteratur.htm I just see the WHW, etc guides. His guides have a brief explanation in English (in the tinnies books, concerning materials), but the tinnie descriptions are in German. But there's not much detail in the descriptions - just location, material, and a Euro value. No explanations of what the tinnies were issued for (like the old Manions books).

I picked my Tieste books up at shows in Germany, and I would think German dealers still have some; maybe someone going to Stuttgart could pick you up a couple?

                    Best,
                    Greg

                      Hi again Tom,
Pretty sure Tieste's books are still available.
The ones I have have both German & English.
Manions was selling them. I've seen them also on eBay.
Shouldn't be too hard to find.
