It might be an unofficial unit pin. The Luftwaffe was big on squadron pins stuck on hats and lapels of their uniforms. The U-boat crews did the same. I'm thinking its something like that.

Occasionally, you'll see a party day badge (tinie) on military uniforms. I have a foto somewhere of an army guy with the WHW toy battleship on his uniform. The most famous example of this (to my mind) is in the movie Schindler's List where the SS officer played by Ralph Fiennes has a party day pin on his uniform though out the movie. I think the researcher who put together his uniform only found the one photo of Amon Goeth and it just happened to be on the day of a particular rally. See link:

But I digress, the Bull pin we are reviewing here is most probably a unit pin of some sort. I'm sure the forum has the expertise to exactly identify it.

              Hi Giel,

Very interesting photo! The thought came to me that it could be a school pin too - either a formal university or possibly an NCO leadership school pin. Wild guessing at this point. I hope somebody can ID the thing. Its a real mystery.

              Cheers, Bill
