    NSDAP Pin ; maker 75. Opinions please.

    Hello,

    This was part of a small pile of things I purchased today. I know the "O" is oblong and that is sometimes a bad sign, but I can't help but believe the pin is original. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

    PS: I had better lighting today and took another shot of the enamel; still, it's a bit darker than this, but not much

        Sorry but i don't like it. Couple of things i see wrong is lettering is too thick and oval O's are only good on pre RZM pins. Also don't like the style of the RZM mark on the reverse and the red enamel on the obverse is wrong.

          Thanks for the reply Eric.

          I paid very little for the pin so it's okay if it's bad, however, when viewed first-hand it has all the characteristics of an old, naturally-patinated piece of metal. If you're right I'm not as good a judge of age as I've thought myself to be.

            Personally I like this one,
            But I can see where features on this badge would cause Erich some concerns, but if you consider the fact it appears to be what is called a transitional badge (made in early 1934) do to the lack of an M1 designator that would explain the oval O also the corrosion on the letters would make them appear much fatter then they really are. I don't know what is wrong with the RZM logo as it's not that uncommon to find this style used on these badges. And the color of the red enamel isn't always the same on these badges it can vary from maker to maker specially on these early pieces and this one could be from the lighting used while photographing it to just plan old-age.

                I'd also say its a good one from the Jan-March 1935 period before the face was completely standardized and the M codes became universal.

                  Would anyone know if the badge in question shows any similarities with the 2 75"s that are already on Jame's database? This might help too. Have a nice weekend. Robert

                    I can answer that one Robert no thay don't because thay both are post 1935 so thay both are what Stephen calls completely standardized.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

                      James, Even the stippling in the red enamel? I think this is a good one as well in my humble opinion. I was just curious to know if the red enamel matched up with the post 1935 standardized examples. Talk Soon, Robert
