I hoping for some advice. Do you think the top badge is a silver RADwj badge or, as I am more inclined to believe infact a black version with bad zinc deterioration? I appreciate your comments

Hi Richard, I would say that it is a silver example. I have one of these, which you can seen here, in which the silver finish has gone from the front of the badge, but on the reverse it is still very nice.

No question...
that it's the silver version, Ade.. These Commemorative brooches (Erinnerungsbrosche) were only awarded in bronze, silver and gold, no black and were given to all girls who retired from active RADwj service...So, only two left to find... This one of mine has also seen some service...Assmann, maker...

I have had a look at the reverses of both my examples and they are both silver, maker marked Ang. does anyone know of this maker?
The strange thing is I have seen pictures of the gold brooch, plenty of the silver but none of the bronze version, which I presume would have been more commoner. Does anyone have one in their collection.
I actually think I prefer the darkened brooch of the two I posted its detail is crisper.
