    Nun Erst Recht 20mm

As some of you know, I'm not too hot on the "Party" style pins. This one just dropped through my door.

What's caught my eye is that it is smaller than the normal size pin, coming in at 20mm instead of 23mm. It is convex, but less than usual. It's marked for Eduard Gösel, Wien.

    Opinions appreciated.

    Cheers
    Don

Thanks Mike, is 20mm an acceptable size?

Iltisfront, thanks for your reply, yours is what Cone describes as a Type 2 as seen in this thread http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...&highlight=nun . The one I show here is what's known as the Type 1, the main difference being the twirl at the bottom.

            Cheers
            Don

              Don,
A real nice piece to just drop though the mail slot, I would think the size shouldn't be a problem as these badges were made long before set standards were in place. I like the fact that this one is really making a statement what with the exclamation point another feature that was dropped in the type 2 badge.

                    Hi Don,

The other interesting thing is that it is from an Austrian maker, but Austria didn't become prt of the Reich intil 1938 and these badges are thought to come from the early Kampfzeit of 1932-33. Outsourcing?

                      Don,

A very nice pin. If you decide to sell it, let me know. I like the ones with the maker marks.
