    What is this?

I think it may have something to do with some kind of HJ competition, but do not really know anything about it. Can anyone enlighten me?

    Thanks,
    Ron

The eagle is HJ, that´s right.

It looks like a winner plaque for a HJ-contest.

Not seen one of those before, but it looks like a badge that would have been nailed to a unit flag pole or some other unit insignia or something similar and it is for a HJ unit competition winner, i.e. a competition for units and not for individuals. A Faehnlein is basically a small HJ troop. And this badge was for the winner of a competition of some sort between different Faehnleins...maybe, it was for the overall best Faehnlein in a Bann or similar?? How big is the plaque? Cheers, Torsten.

An other badge like this is published in J.R. Angolias "The HJ - Vol.2".

From tip to tip it is 3 inches, and the height is about 1 inch.
