I got this high quality badge from my Dad like 30 years ago ,--and I have no idea where he got it --may be during a visit to that factory . It shows " iG -LEUNA '', is 1" round, with quaility enamel placed into brass- lined recess, back is silver wash and hmkd. "C.POELLATH--SCHROBENHAUSEN ( a town of 15,500 in Bavaria ) " . LEUNA was a factory by IG FARBEN that produced cokefied gasoline during WW II. Does anybody have any info on LEUNA -- and may be it's location ? There is a town of LEUN near Wiesbaden .

Very nice pre-1945 works badge... of course IG Farben were the makers of Zyklon B among other things...Leuna is a huge chemical site in East Germany...and if you want to find out more about the location, start by using this link (there is an English language option): http://www.leuna.de/
Cheers, Torsten.

Leuna Ig-farben Badge
Hello - Torsten : Thanks so much for the interesting information . I looked up the Leuna web -site . Looks like everything is up-to-date in Leuna ! Regards, Bernd . Ps. It could be that this badge actual came from my Grandfather who lived in middle-Germany, Stolberg/Harz, and since he was working in the lumber industry there ,he might have furnished some wood to Leuna for their use.
