They are all selling the copies I had made from this piece. What is mine? Post war, Souval, fake, variant. I had 250 reproductions made from my piece and those are the ones on FHQ, thirdreich, etc.

Here is the repro I made from my original piece. FHQ (Cyrus at Soldat), Thirdreich (Russ), and Manions, etc. Is my original piece any good? Souval post war? fake? variant?

I'm not sure what the origin of yours is, although I would say definitely post-1945. Possibly Souval. The centerpiece is certainly incorrect, as is the gilding overall. The oakleaf borders on the arms leave something to be desired as well - too thick and lack detail.

The last good one I saw came from Bill Shea a few years back - I think $15K

Here is another fake clearly from a different mould (different oakleaves yet again): http://capral-new.narod.ru/fashizm/gorder3/gorder3.htm.

i have seen Bill's, but there is no one other out there like my example. I want to sell it, but I would like to have some more definitive opinions. Has anyone see one like this? If it is Souval, it has a good value, but I need to see a comparison. Is that possible?
MANY THANKS TO ALL OF YOUR FOR YOUR ADVICE AND CONTINUED INFORMATION.

Does anyone out there have any pics of the Soval G.O. 3rd?

By the way, by "Souval" I meant a post-war repro by them, not a period piece.

I understand. I just need to know how many post-war GO 3rds are out there. I want to sell this and it may be of considerable value if not many exist.

I would venture to guess that the majority of the Souval copies are in older collections around the world. I'm trying to find my old ca. 1960s-70s catalogue that listed them as well as the other copies made but so far, without success. I remember that they were relatively expensive for the time. The last Souval copy sold that I'm aware of went for around $750.00. I don't know if that's a representative price, because the dealer who sold it told me he had paid too much for it.
