A real nice tinnie you have there Andy. Here is an explanation of the motif taken from a Manion's tinnie book the KdF (Strength thru Joy) Volkswagen commemorates the VW plant in the area: the ship signifies the maritime nature of the area and the ancient lintels ties in the Germanic past.

These are fairly sought after but not extremely rare. They are also reproduced but this one looks good. I`ve seen these sell up to $125.00 but thats high end. $90.00 - $100.00 is more in line.
