    Party membership badge- Opinions

Could some one help me post some pictures of a M1/72 marked party badge that I would like some opinions on. I have recently purchased it from a well known dealer but have my typically paranoid suspicions.

I have finally paid up for full membership but that will take a few days. In the mean time can anyone help me post them. I would be very grateful for any assistance.

    Tech Help

    Hi Richarddwh,
There is a testing and technical advice forum within this site that is very helpful in posting photos. You may find an answer to your problems there. Also, The web site www.nsdapbadges.com that Frobler has constructed for these is full of excellent info. I have used his site several times prior to the purchase of party badges. He has certainly put a lot of work in it for the collecting community. Hope this helps and look forward to seeing your photos, G May

Thanks for the tips G May, I have already sent Frobler some pics, his website is superb and has proved very useful in the past. I like to repay this by contributing pics of my party badges. Unfortunately Frobler has not had the opportnity to give his valued opinion, but judging by the other examples of this maker I have my doubts. Until my membership goes through I am unable to post pics, at least thats what I've thought for the last year or so.

Adrian, thanks for the offer of help, I have PMed you.

Richard, While it looks like the pin has been replaced and not well done I believe from looking at your picture's the badge by itself is good.

Many thanks to Adrian for kindly posting these images for me.

James I agree the clasp on the reverse has been very sloppily replaced. But the obverse looks odd, the first image posted shows the badge on the left, what I consider to be a textbook example, nice enamel with the bronzey tombak lettering, and round 'O's. The questionable badge has silvery lettering ( different metal )a little less defined, with more squashed letter 'O's rather than round types. Also the enamel does not quite have that bright translucencey that I get with my other enamelled party badges.

I would appreciate others opinions, especially Frobler if you are around.

Hi Richard, I agree with JNoble, the badge looks right but if you have any doubts, return it. There is nothing worse than having a piece, in your collection, that you have doubts about.
                    Warmest Regards ... John
