SA Sprts badge (bronze) Price Help.

I have been offered a SA Sports Badge in Bronze. Looking at it, there is very little finish but what little there is could well be gold. I know a pic would be helpful but I've lent my camera to a student. What would be a fair price to pay (assuming it is a bronze with hardly any finish on it!)?

Also, how can I tell if it is a type 1, 2 or 3 sports badge???
