    NSDAP Membership Badge Opinion

Guys, Well I just returned from a small show and I couldn't pass this up because of its' odd reverse markings among other things. What do you think? I appreciate your opinions good or bad. If it is a good one it could possibly go on the database as I don't think it is ther yet. Thanks as allways. Robert

Notice how the gold around the swats blends into the inner ring of gold. How about that? Anyway, here is the reverse. Thanks again.

I do not like it. Oval O's, large space between the L and S, single lined RZM mark combined with the ges gesch and the 59.

Nice transitional badge, due to misinformation a lot of people think these badges are not good.In fact they are earlier versions that are more desirable than the later M1 standard badges.Mike Tucker has written a book on NSDAP party badges that will be printed in January. This book will clear up a lot of speculation and misinformation that exists about these badges.I think a lot of you will be shocked to find out how many different makers of these badges exist,I certainly was.

Thanks for all the views and responses as always. I for one can't wait for more reference material on these badges. I bought this pin under bad lighting and a lot of pushing and shoving. There was very little to buy in Allentown. Between the pickers and dealers asking if I had anything to sell.....inflationary and frenzied times in our hobby. Thanks again. Robert

                  Robert,
Personally I wouldn't have bought this badge even though it looks well aged unless it had a really low price, I can except the Ges Gesch marking being it's on the attachment plate not the badge itself and the lack of the outer circle on the RZM logo is of no concern as there are at least four different types of RZM logos used, it's just I don't care for the style of fonts used on RZM marked badges. On the NSDAP database we have assembled a List of 59 known M1 makers post RZM and 14 pre RZM badges marked with the makers names and 11 just marked with GES GESCH but so far no other badges marked with #59 I would like to see some other examples of this maker before I can except this badge as authentic. As I stated in the beginning this is just my opinion.

James, All of this sounds reasonable enough. Abit of controversy adds to the hobby IMO. It now stands at 3 yea and 2 nay. I am hoping for a 59 to appear for comparison. Robert

Robert, I couldn't agree more, with controversy comes knowledge.

Very true, every discussion adds knowledge.

Does anyone else have a 59 marked badge out there?
