    Frauenschaft Type III Leaders' Badge

My Friends, Just wondering about your opinions on this badge. I have had this one for a while now....before there was information available about markings and RZM numbers. I had a gut feeling this was legit but that was then and this is now...take a look if you will and offer all opinions good and bad. Thank you one and all. Robert

The reverse, even if not authentic is very well done. It felt good in the hand too. Robert

To be honest I don't really know Robert.

Ordinarily, I'd have no hesitation in saying great. However, there are a large number of very minty M1/34's floating around the European dealers & they all have the strange "crimp" to the pin keeper which worries me.

It may well be legit & a style of manufacture used but that particular company. I'd be interested in the views of our other members here.

      Cheers
      Don

Have you had a look at the badge in Jon Cone's book on enameled badges? He has an especially good section on the Frauenschaft badges.

The problem with Cone is that a few of the pins featured in it are now considered bad by the enamel collecting community (including 1 or 2 of the Frauenschafts). Much more is known now than back in the 80's when it was written.

The hobby badly needs a new reference book on enamels........

          Cheers

Don, Well said about the need for a new reference book on enamels. I couldn't even imagine how much time that would take. Locating examples, getting concensus opinions and so on. This one is going into my cigar box with a few other "stinkers" I have. I think it well represents a copy and can be used as a reference. The $30 spent isn't a complete waste. Thanks for your help. Robert
