NSDAP Pin RZM 72 Marked - Need Help

Yes, I typo'd the It is RZM 76 not 72. I have searched the archives for a good one or fake that conformed to this badge and could not locate it.

It has nice enamel and a well struck double circle RZM and 76. However it has:
    1. Gap between L and S
    2. Oval "O"
    3. Poorly set pin
    4. Good sized gap in white field at edges of swastika arm.

If this is not a correct NSDAP pin, is there one of a RZM 76 out there?

P.S. I did get this from the nephew of a 101st Vet. He is keeping the rest of his GI stuff, but let go of the German pin. Not saying that a pin could not have been picked up by Sarge at a VFW gunshow in the 60's, but it has not been in many hands.

Apologies for the bonehead 72 vs. 76. I altered the post. Now it is more confusing

Glad you changed the number, but I have a question about the RZM mark,
From the picture you posted it looks like the outer circle intersect the M? If so it shouldn't, it should go completely around the RZM mark the inner circle is the one that is attached to the M. Also I personally don't like this style of fonts and floating swastikas on badges that are RZM marked. I know there are collectors that don't mind but I feel this style predates the RZM and shouldn't be stamped so. Just my Opinion.

Thanks James, it does touch the bottom of the M as you mention. We all collect by consensus. You see the debate on the DVG pins. I have one of the M9 ones, but feel good about it because it was vet acquired. Ran a thread about that some months back.

This came indirectly from a vet thorugh his nephew, and if it did not have the RZM on it, I would be more comfortable with the setup.

On a side note, the tombak color is identical to an original pin. If this is a fake it, is likely VERY old.
