Kreissieger refferance database

[R v Kempen]

hello all

i thought i would build my own referance database with why, how and when's
known makers ,production dates ,special charateristics from that particular maker,award documents and award specifications

because i'm just starting to collect HJ items and my favorite badges are the sieger 1938 badges (in general all sieger badges but i need to start some where )

i recently accuired my first badge(didn't arrive yet,but due next week)

any help would be much appriciated (?)

and is that the official presentation case for that badge?
it looks a bit like an IC case can you post some pictures from the case??

Hi Richard, yes it is the original case... EK1 cases have the silver
cross outlined on the lid, but as you say, similar..You will see the outline of the badge on the base.. Light blue cardboard boxes were also used for presentation, later in the war years..

thank you Kevin, this badge is my favorite and i want to make an extensive database of it including differances of each maker,and even die flaws(i know it's going to be a awesome job)
it has to be fairly complete with all i can find about this subject (even the history behind it)

i'm planning to put the known reproductions in it and why they aren't originals plus comparisoms with originals

i plan to collect them all

Hello Richard,

I am fortunate enough to own all of the Seiger badges for 1938 and 1939 and a Gauseiger badge for 1944. I have the award document for my 1938 Gauseiger Badge. Ity is a large document with an embossed image of the badge on the front cover. The award went to Hans Guenther Plate in der Wettkampfgruppe Handel. The 1939 Kresiseiger badge was made by H. Aurich. All of the rest were made by G. Brehmer. All are in excellent condition with the exception of the 1939 Reichsseiger. The gilt (or gold wash) on the eagle has gone to time for some reason. The 1938 Kreissieger has a lighter tone of bronze than does the 1939 version (different makers). I have never been able to determine why these badges do not have the RZM mark on them.

In addition to the award document, I have two certificates which were given to all participiants in the competitions. One is for 1937 and the other is for 1938.

Hi Richard, of course you may use the pictures.. When the 'book'
comes out I'll expect a mention.

I also have K-Sieger 1938 and 1944 painted, somewhere, I'll have to look for them.. My 1938 came with the persons Golden
honour badge (numbered).
Watch out for the 1944, painted, as these have been reproduced.
These 2nd pattern badges quite easy to find but the hard one to locate is the 1st pattern, a very different animal.. I been on the hunt for a 1st pat', on and off, for some time, so If anyone has one to spare??

a book?? well i don't think there will be a book(not much of a writer you know ) maybe an internet page or site
but if my project get's to big for an internet site who knows

but every picture will be copywrited with the owners name (so no mistake can be made)

i'm eager to see the award documents and participation certificate ,i recently accuirred (spelling?) a 1936 RAD certificate (at a small locall militaria show)but i never seen any of those,the price was right and i thought well just do it

can anyone show those certificates and award documents?
