      Ski Heil und Servus Bootmanager,

      I have one of these medalions in my collection also. This just shows how Gebirgsjaegers loved to climb and ski no matter what. To think that they were holding competitions in March of 1945 (I think that's the date on the back of mine...not home at the moment) is pretty spectactular.

        The Westalpen Front would put them skiing in the Mont Blanc area, where the 100. GJR and Hochgeb.Btl.4 were posted and fighting the French Chasseur Alpin.
