I picked this up this month and have no idea what it is for. At first I thought sports related but not sure. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Mike

These are listed in Andre Huskens book (8752a-i) as a badge for light athletic achievments. They are quite rare and are valued at about $350 USD. I have the 1927 and 1928 versions and like you, just came across the 1932 version. I'm concerned that Manions also has had 2 or 3 of the 1932 versions pop up lately and even though the construction looks good, the surface finish seems a bit rougher that the versions made in the 1920s. Too many 1932's showing up all at once is my main concern. Maybe someone out there has a 1932 version they are certain of the we could compare with.

Thanks for the information--I missed it when looking in my book. This came from Germany in a grouping out of a house. Mixed in with some non military items. Would like to see your stickpin to compair. The detail on this one looks good to me. Thanks again, Mike
Forgot to add that in no way do I think this stickpin is a $350.00 stickpin.Last edited by Mike Dunn; 07-18-2005, 08:09 PM.

Mike,
Yeah, I hear you about the value, but Andre and Detlev Niemann's reference works drive the market price of these membership pins and people are paying the tariff. I chase them on German E-Bay pretty often and am amazed by some of the bidding wars that take place. I collect the stickpins with the long needle and have over 1000 of them from the 1851-1945 era. I really need to learn how to post photos on the Forum so that I can show you folks some of the rare ones that I've picked up.
