In 1941 the German Ministry of Propaganda estimated the quantity of day badges at more then 32,000 pieces of different design. I have a book by Holger Rosenberg on badges sold just by the WHW and in it they have production numbers for the items listed in the book here's just one example from their book.Attached FilesLast edited by James Noble; 06-22-2005, 03:54 AM.

thanks for the help
Matt
The numbers produced are mind boggling.
That's what makes this particular area of collecting so fascinating and
challenging. As hard as you try, you'll never get them all, but it's sure fun trying!
Plus you constantly run across tins you've never seen before.
James,
Thanks for the data. Great reference!

[QUOTE=Matt Starr]I'm still unsure of how you got one though.
Matt,
Generally speaking, rally participants would make a small contribution and would then receive a badge. You had huge mass rallies and smaller scale rallies. The smaller rallies also had special badges struck. These are the more valuable and harder to find pieces. Tinnies could also be bought outright on the streets of Germany. The donations went to the Party.
