Nun erst Recht badge on Ruptured duck site

    Hello all,
Thought I had seen a thead already on the forum regarding this badge Bill Shea has for sale on his website but couldn't find it so started a new thread. I have never done business with Mr. Shea myself but have heard he sells good stuff, that's why I was surprised to see this item on his site, and it is still up there for sale surprisingly. The item # is M356 and I believe this is one of those polish fakes that everyone and there brother talks about with disdain. Any comments regarding this item? Again I know all dealers sometimes have garbage on their sites but I wonder how an item like this could get past someone with the knowledge of Bill Shea...and still be for sale months later. I have increasingly started to hear about bad items being sold on the Ruptured Duck site and wonder what's going on.

and guess, which banner was at the bottom of the page, as I was reading your post...??....the ruptured duck... I do not know the man, but I have also only heard good things about him to date and I will have a look through his listings now.... Cheers, Torsten.

      Hello,
I also have never bought anything from him. I have heard mixed reviews of his items on other forums basically and at a show asked him a question not realizing he was engaged in a sale with someone else and received a somewhat rude reply which was kind of a turn off but as I said he was in the middle of a sale. He does seem to have some nice items on his site but they do seem way over priced. IMHO

I have dealt with Bill Shea before and have found him to be an honest gentleman with almostt always good stuff. I believe he would never knowingly deceive.

However, that orange cross with the Nun Erst Recht center is a real howler. It is a Polish fantasy and I don't know how Bill could let it slip by as original. Everyone has bad days and no one knows everything. I bet if you email Bill and point it out (and reference this thread) he'll pull it ASAP and give it the hard hit with a hammer it deserves.

          Hello,
Thank you for your reply. As I mentioned in my initial post I had read another thread regarding this item,I believe on one of the WAF forums but can no longer find it. After reading that initial thread I figured someone might have emailed him or that he might have seen the thread etc. & remove the item since it was obviously a glaring error. What surprised me was that it was still on his site after a goodly amount of time. Perhaps as you say I should email him and inform him of this oversite regarding this item. Again thanks for your reply.

I agree with Stephen, I too have dealt with Bill & found him to be honest & fair. I bought an item that was (quite sometime) later found to be suspicious & Bill had no problems with taking the item back & making good.

Regarding this NER badge & the previous thread, it could just be that nobody contacted Bill, assuming that someone else would do it. Drop him a line Duzig.

            Cheers
            Don

              Hello again all,
Mr. Shea is indeed a man of his word and after I emailed him he replied back that the badge would be removed from his site shortly. As I said I really have had no dealing with him and have heard basically good things regarding him.

Bill Shea is very good and honest Dealer with whom I've done a fair amount of business with. No ones perfect!

                  Erich,
That is why I posted his answer to me regarding this badge. As I said he said it would be removed and so it was. That is a plus in my book
