    NS Studentbund Membership Pin Question

I have a NS Studentbund pin marked Ges.Gesch on the back. I know JR Cone says these pins should be marked RZM with an M1/#. Is Cone's word the gospel when it comes to these little pins?

    Thanks.

    Scott

(I'm referring to the diamond-shaped pin at the bottom of the picture)

Since originally starting this query, I'd like to also ask about the authenticity of the 2 round Studentbund pins as well...

Lovely pins you got there, I've been after these for some time (the top two).

There are known errors in Cone's book but I'm not sure of the answer here as I don't know when these badges first appeared & I'm away from my references at the moment.

I would personally expect to see the RZM plus I'm worried as the Ges Gesch looks stamped in, however Stephen is your man with these, I'm sure he'll chip in at some point.

      Cheers
      Don

Thanks. Since they are in the above pictures, what's everyone's opinion on the two round NS Studentbund pins as well?

              Hi,

I see Don has already been at it above...

He's right, I don't like the stamped in GES. GESCH. The NSDStB was an RZM-controlled org, so it should have an M1 number. I also see too many dots in the red field - it's usually 2 rows of 5 in each - I see six in one.

The top two look fine - they are gettng very hard to find.

These badges are being well copied, so I'd be careful of this one.

Thanks Stephen. I've not had another NS StB member diamond to compare "dots" with, so I appreciate your insight; and it echos what Cone wrote. Thanks also for the positive words and words of caution on the other two pins.

Thanks Don! The discrepancy is now obvious.

Hello Folks, I was curious about the dots. Is it usually 2 rows of 5 dots each or allways 2 rows of 5 dots each. Have there been any deemed original with more or less than 5 dots each? Perhaps a maker variation? A good day to all and thank you. Robert
