    Saarpfalz-vereine

Anyone know anything about this badge or why it has 3 names on the back? I guess it's some sort of marking of the return of the Saar area in Jan 35, but I think there's more to it that that.

Any help appreciated. It's not as bright gold as it looks, just reflection from the scanner.

    Cheers
    Don

The manufacturer is on the right F MANNHEIM, but the is also a name obscured under the pin at the bottom, K L*UTERN (the * denotes the letter hidden under the pin), & ENTW. A. BERND JR.

Any clues? Again, it's a brighter gold in the pix than in hand.

    Cheers
    Don

      *Entw = Entwurf = design

      *Ausf = Ausführung = produced/production

*K' l*utern = probably short for the name of the city Kaiserslautern

The badge was designed by A. Behrend JR, produced by F. Mannheim.
Either the designer or the producer...or both, were situated in the city of Kaiserslautern. I could not find this maker in my referencelitterature, so it would be nice if anyone can confirm this.

        Don,
Nice badge . Never have seen one before. Are those grapes in the central motif?

Thanks for the info Karl, I wasn't sure what the Entw was for.

John, thanks. Yes, from what I've heard it's something to do with the wine or grape businesses. Still trying to find out more.

          Cheers

Nice one Don I've got one of these too. The gold plating/wash has lasted nicely on these pins and the enamel work is very nice.
