Sorry Mike, this is a well documented fake & I think one of the first to appear so it could well be from the 60's.

      Cheers

They are still readily available from Nick Morigi. That example looks as tho it has been aged - - a convincing peice. A new collector may well be taken in by it. If my memory seves me well the RZM did not issue the ten numbers between 130-39.

SS enamel pins were never under the RZM. That goes for this pin, the regular SS-FM member pin and the SS Zivilabzeichen stickpin. Any of these with an RZM logo or number is a fake.

            Sorry.

Actual the RZM numbers missing from the list between 130 & 39 are 31,32,33,34 and 35. Not to say they weren't issued just that the makers names have been lost.

Thanks James - I am very grateful for that info - - I just seem to recall reading somewhere that they were never allocated. Anyway, I have made a special collection of NSDAP badges by different makers and styles of fitting, finish and different maker marks for the same maker etc etc - over 100 so far - and I have none in the 130-139 range. Same goes for related organisation enamel dadges in my collection. Looks like I will have to redouble my efforts - who said collecting was not an obsession !!

                Thanks again.

If we're talking about the M1 numbers,

                  M1/31 = Karl Pfohl
                  M1/32 = Gustav Ramminger
                  M1/34 = Karl Wuster
                  M1/35 = Wachtler & Lange
                  M1/130 = Grossmann & Co., Inh. Lorenz Hoffstätter & L. Siefener, Wien<O
                  M1/136 = Matth Salcher & Söhne, Wagstadt<O</O
                  M1/137 = Richard Simm & Söhne, Gablonz a. N
                  M1/138 = Matth Oechsler & Sohn AG, Riegersdorf/Bodenbach
                  M1/139 = Rudolf Richter, Schlag Nr. 244

RZM numbers were released in blocks, and not all of them were issued. Some were issued and retired almost immediately without being used due to business conslidations, withdrawal and going out of business. I believe (and so does C.R. Davis) that all of the issued and used "M" RZM numbers have been accounted for, and any that do not appear in the list were either never issued or never used.

A copy of the "M" list can be downloaded from my RZM website.

Sorry - got confused by the way the numbers were set out above. I didn't realize we were only talking about M1/131 to M1/135.

M1/131 to M1/135 were likely never issued. They were probably the tail end of a block that went up to M1/135 and were never issued before the next block was released by the RZM.

Cone was a bit off in his estimate of production date of the FM Silber Ehrennadel. These pins were intended to honor the first 60,000 FM members and production and issue of them began in late 1935.
