Large Swastika Eagle with Wreath - What is it?

This one is a mistery to me... very well made, but I have never seen anything like it...I have no idea if it original or not, I have no idea what it is or is supposed to be??? If anyone else know, please do let me know. It is quite heavy, but appears to be made from steel. Wingspan of the Eagle from top tip to top tip is 6 1/8". There are no marks at all, no RZM, nothing. The eagle looks very nicely detailed and the front looks aged, but I am not sure about the back and I would have expected to see some markings on something like this....but most importantly of all, I have no idea what it is supposed to be (whether original or not)...I always thought the police cap badge had a closed wreath, so it is not that...is it? ... any comments are welcome....thank you and Cheers, Torsten.

Could it be an eagle off one of those Polizei cartouche bag things?

          Cheers

Torsten, That eagle is definately for a police shako hat. It has had the mounting studs cut off and it is somewhat flattened, though.

These are some of the most beautiful and well-detailed of 3rd Reich hat eagle emblems. I have one and it is my favorite!

Here is a pic of mine too:

            Hope this helps,
            John

John, thank you...I just kind of thought the police eagle badge had closed wreath...but evidently the cap badge did not..I will start directing my search towards that one...does yours have any markings on the back and is it the same dims as mine? Cheers, Torsten.

PS: Would be really great if it turned out to be original...as I got it very cheaply as part of a swap lot...

P.S. Thorsten: Check yours with a magnet to see if it is steel. Mine is aluminum, and all I have seen are aluminum too.

Mine does have a makers mark Thorsten, but I have seen many others that are not. My eagle has exactly the same width dimension as yours does.

                      Hi,
Here's mine for comparison. Non-magnetic aluminum construction.
                      Maker marked by "CTD."
