SoS Tinnies for your Stay at Home Amusement

While I'm dreaming of attending a show again and have some spare time, thought I would post my SoS tinnie pickups.

Often, even as a moderately advanced tinnie collector, shows can be rather disappointing and not offer much but common items. I love shows and collect in other areas but often will come home with no tinnies.

However, this year's SoS was different! Awesome finds from multiple dealers, including a whole ziplock bag full one dealer had under his table with some rare pieces!

2. 1932 SA donation pin. Apparently related to the April 13, 1932 emergency decree by Hindenberg ordering the SA, SS and all auxiliary forces of the Nazi Party dissolved immediately.

Nice tinnies Justin!

I find your "Nationaler Flugtag Bad Aibling 1933" particularly interesting...I have a "generic" (no city identified) Nationaler flugtag 1933 of similar design by the same maker. Makes me wonder how many "Nationaler" flugtags they held in a year.

I used to collect some tinnies, but have become much stricter in what I collect and have thus disposed most of my tinnies (expect for honour badges which started as tinnies). Could someone tell me more about those flugtags and if the NSFK had their own as well?

JC - How big is that "generic" one? Wurster actually made a tiny version, compared here to the 5cm one I initially posted. Kind of interesting that they carried the design into a mini one.

TR flight-related tinnies tend to fall into four categories depending on the event they were made for and the period:
1. DLV
2. NSFK
3. Luftschutz (defense related but some have planes)
4. NSDAP or generic flugtag

You will see them for flying or Luftwaffe exhibitions or rallies, race or acrobatic competitions, glider related, and even for model airplane events. I've seen combined NSKK/ DLV events also where cars were chasing balloons.

So, absolutely the NSFK had their own. You will spot the NSFK Icarus in a few of the following pics and there are lots more on the forum if search works for you:

This is getting more interesting indeed...

My "generic" National Flugtag 1933 is 40mm tall by 34 mm wide (at eagle's wing tips). Interesting thing here is that it doesnt really match your mini does it? The wording is replaced by a swastika on yours.

Dont know much about tinnies (let alone flight ones) as I just pick 'hem up when I see nice ones but the few I've picked up so far all have swastiskas except this one even if they occured before the NSDAP's access to power.

I always figured that the lack of swaz on this one might be explained by the fact this event was the official "national" (technically still Weimar) event and that it occured before the 4/1933 election. Not so sure now because of the swaz on your mini unless its so small you couldnt possibly fit the wordind & they replaced it with a swaz
