    NSDAP uniform and great coat opinions

    Hello, I was contacted by the son of a collector who passed away and was left these two pieces. He is looking to sell them to me, but want to make sure they check out. I noticed some of the other bad items in the pile so I figured these may be fishy.

                          It looks like it was a stripped political tunic and coat that have been rebadged. Plus the tunic is heavily damaged, not quite to the relic stage, but well along the way. The tunic and coat look original IMO.

                            I agree with Erich's views on these two pieces. I also note that the collar tabs on the tunic are not the same rank as those on the great coat. And in both cases, the piping on both tab sets is black, which indicates the earlier piping of those in Kreis service, while the collar piping on both garments is the later white color.

                              IMO, the insignia should have gold colored litzen to match the color of the buttons according to OrgBuch NSDAP regulations. And as noted above, the piping and rank insignia do not match resulting in a mishmash set.
