Medal of Merit of the German Eagle Order

Hi all,

I bought this medal in Hanson’s March 2019 sale. I have since added the ribbon to it for display. It is unmarked.

I was thinking of selling it so I’m looking for opinions before I list it on the estand.

Any opinions would be much appreciated.

It's a fake.

An original medal of this design / year must ALWAYS have 835 PR MÜNZE BERLIN marking on the profile below (see image 1)

The swords on the back must not be smooth ... they have to have shape and relief just like the front and the swords must be welded on the ring and not on the medal (see image two)

The eagles' heads of your medal look like geese. They have a very long neck on their medal. (see image three)

The rust marks on your medal indicate that it is not made of silver (see image four)

The handles of the swords are not equal either. There are also differences in the shape of the letters of the back legend but I think it is not necessary to say what they are ... there is already enough evidence that it is a fake.....Sorry
