    Desk Eagle (no base)

Looking for a opinion on this item from some of the oracles. Thank you.

It is a big no from me.
Details are wrong and probably a re-cast piece.

The eagle is elegant and regal, but the blurred RZM code and license number on the wreath's reverse is a give-away that this is a recasting...possibly recast from a better recast!

I'm just curious about the type of replication process being used. Is it a 3D scanned and 3D printed piece? I can see horizontal lines / bands across the artefact which is a sign of layered casting or evening 3d printing. However, the inside part seems to be threaded in metal.

I can remember seeing these repros as early as 1962.

I agree with the others, it is a recast and not a very good one .... weak details & casting flaws & wrong base material IMHO it's bad.

I doubt that it was laser printed, those lines are probably from filing casting flaws and making copies of copies of copies which causes flaws & softer details. I have seen laser printed items and the lines from that process are very uniform in size the lines on this eagle are not like that .... all that being said it is a re-cast and a not very good one.

Thank you all for your help. I had a feeling it was a bad one because of the blurred RZM code (like another member pointed out)
