Not much was going on there:

          November 9, 1929 (Saturday)

A Chinese report stated that Soviet troops had crossed the Amur River near Blagoveshchensk.[24]
Severe fighting with heavy losses on both sides was reported from Hunan Province in the Chinese Civil War.[24]

Oh yes, it was a typo error. I meant to say 1923! It's been 96 years!

I don't have Jeff Hansen's article from "Military Advisor" on the annual Putsch observations in front of me, but since the Party Congress of 1929 was a huge affair -- and the last RPT prior to Hitler's ascension to power -- I would imagine that the 1929 observation of the "Martyrs of 9 November" was both a public and a private affair, beginning on November 8th at the Bürgerbräukeller with an address by Hitler to the Party leadership, and a wreath-laying at the Feldherrnhalle.

Were there any commemorations towards the later war years? Not sure if anyone has a collection related to 9 Nov 1923? I only have a booklet (and a crystal cut vase which has been sold).

How about November 9, 1918, when the Kaiser abdicated?

November 9, a big day in German history.
