    Blutorden Frauen

It’s said that 16 women received the blood order.

That had to be a bit special.
I have heard of two, Eleonore Baur and then I found Emma Schneider on Wikipedia.

Does anyone know more about the women that received the blood Order, nr etc?
    Please share.

    Kind regards
    vonLind

    That's a coincidence.

A couple of days ago a friend of mine sent me a photo of a female BO recipient to ask me if I knew who she was.

I emailed it to Jon Fish last night to ask him but here is the photo anyway in case someone else can recognise her.

Yes that’s a we’ll know photo. Sorry Stan not had time to reply and dig out her name. I have it someplace , it’s from a newspaper article.
I have the only known surviving female BO in my collection, And yes that’s Emma Schneider.

It's the pic of Berta Soldat. It was published in a issue of the NS Frauen-Warte

This is Eleonore Baur aka Schwester Pia
She is one of the recipients of the BO,
and you can see it to the right on her blouse.

                "It is Berta Soldat"

Interesting information, friends. In the photo, the lady is wearing a Golden Party Badge. I checked Patzwall's list of Honorary GPB recipients and no one by that name appears there, so she must have received the numbered GPB as an early Member of the NSDAP. Her name does not appear on my GPB list; does anyone know what her number was?

                Thanks, as always,

                Br. James

"I have heard of two, Eleonore Baur and then I found Emma Schneider on Wikipedia."

                  Hi vonLind,

According to the Patzwall list of Blood Order recipients, Eleonore Baur received First Issue BO #25, though in his excellent biography of her in the Winter 2014/2015 issue of "Military Advisor," Jeff Hansen states that she held BO #61 (held by another recipient, according to Patzwall).

Again, according to the Patzwall list, Emma Schneider received a Second Issue BO of unlisted number -- as most Second Issue BO numbers were unlisted. She is listed as one of ten Austrian women who were awarded the BO on March 13, 1941:
                  Maria Bauer of Klagenfurt
                  Maria Bauer of Graz
                  Antonia Friedmann of Vienna
                  Viktoria Kinschel of Salzburg
                  Christina Maurer of Graz
Maria Theresia von Metnitz of Vienna
                  Bertha Soldat of Klagenfurt
                  Emma Schneider of Vienna
                  Maria Antonia Vogel of Vienna
Marianne Weiland of Halle on the Saale

                  Hope this is helpful information.

Eleonore Baur was number 511 in NSDAP, and her Blood Order was number 25, she received the Blood Order in 1934.
The place for number 25 is empty her:

Became a bit confused here. I found some other information regarding E.Baur, that she had number 506... and not 511 as I posted earlier.
Maybe some one has membership list of NSDAP or knows where to search?

Eleonore Baur was a very early member of the DAP, apparently earlier than Hitler, as she initially held DAP Membership Number 511 or possibly 506. When the NSDAP was reconstituted in late February of 1925, she assumed that her original membership would automatically continue, and she did not file a new application at that time...as everyone else who wanted to continue in the NSDAP did. Then, as an early recipient of the Blood Order, she held a very visible position in and around Munich, and she again assumed that her status as a Blood Order Träger gave her a public position in the Party which was unassailable. That didn't hold true, and eventually she had to again apply for NSDAP Membership -- which she finally did in early 1937, and she was issued NSDAP Membership Number 5096034! Such a high number obviously did not qualify her for the numbered Golden Party Badge and, because of her aggressive and self-assured manner, she became a bit of a public embarrassment to Hitler and the Munich Party Membership, and she was never awarded the Honorary AH GPB, either. She continued to use the name she took during WWI as a nursing sister -- Sister Pia -- and proudly wore her Blood Order everywhere she went.
