Hitler Bronze bust by Paul Eschert

Hi Guys, this superb bronze came into work this week.

Paul Eschert was a noted sculpter who had work exhibited in the Haus der Deutsche Kunst in 1940.

The bust has never been in a collection before. Bigger than life size. Mounted on a turned circular wooden plinth 235mm in diameter. Height of the bronze bust is approx 33cm. Approx overall height including the wooden plinth is 42cm.

    Cheers, Ade.

A great score of a noted sculptor on this large Hitler bronze bust.

Nice to see one with original plinth attached.

I guess that was meant to show to you so you could perhaps buy it ?

I think the hammer price was £1100.

These are notes from a knowledgeable friend. The bust is broken and the back has been filed down. The base is not original. You can tell by the large crack on the wood base. It’s having trouble supporting the weight.

All in all IMHO it is still a very nice piece.

Bargain price as well, even with the replaced base and neck issues.
