    Another Wall Eagle...

    Hi guys,

Another wall eagle here to cast your beady eyes over, expect it’s a reproduction but you never know! No markings to the rear at all. Thank you.

I don't recall ever seeing this design previously...but I like the detail shown on this piece! I also don't have my copy of Wim Saris' fine volume on Railway Eagles at hand so I can't check for this piece there. Perhaps others here can add that piece of research? But I do like the detail we see on this piece.

What metal is it made of?

It kinda looks like the Submarine eagle on pages 37 - 38 of Wim Saris eagle book. That one is made of a brass / copper mix and the wings measure 51.0 CM.
        Regards,
        Michael H.

          Yes
Its a reproduction of the U Boot mast eagle from the Saris book.
The original has a lot sharper detail

            Repro

            It's a repro...cast aluminium....not bronze..

              repro

Here's the same type of copy (out of Russia) unpainted
The ad for the painted one also states cast aluminium and that it is a repro

I'm both sorry and glad to know that this is a modern copy...quite a striking piece!

Thanks to STLMatt and to markscln for keeping us on top of such shenanigans.

Come on. Look at the head of the eagle! Clearly a cast copy.
