    Unfinished SA sport badge for war wounded

    Picked this up in a trade at my local coin shop. Never seen one quite like it before, so I thought I'd share.

      Yes indeed -- pretty neat!! This piece came from the factory of Werner Redo in Saarlautern, probably at the very end of the war. A very nice addition to any collection of SA Sport Badges in their varying degrees!

              I picked these up decades ago. Could be a GI grabbed a batch from the company workshop.

                  Right you are, paulj -- very nice souvenir pieces! And since the only manufacturer I've seen of the SA Military Defense Badge for War Wounded was the firm of Werner Redo in Saarlautern, I'd bet that that GI was serving with George Patton when the Third Army crashed through the West Wall right there! A great souvenir indeed!!
