It’s fine. I think the pocket and bits have been added though as far as I’m aware those were never with the medal a few years ago when I saw it last in private hands. Plus if you look at the photo of the trager wearing the BO his ribbon is not exactly the same in the photo.

An interesting piece, Gian. The fact that Eugen Schmidhäussler, the manufacturer of the BO, stamped the silver content number -- .990 -- upside-down on this piece certainly adds a quality of unique character to this badge!

As you probably know, according to Klaus Patzwall, the original recipient of this award was Max Kemmerich, who was a member of the 14th Kompanie of the Bund Oberland at the time of the Putsch.

I agree it’s fine. These were hand stamped and weren’t made for the collector marker by the Franklin Mint after all.

It just adds character to the medal.

There are also a few examples with the 900 mark stamped above the medal number--not a problem!

Most are in the 500-700 range and it makes sense that they were stamped in batches.

Agreed. Very nice business if you have rare (and desirable) pieces. Certainly good business.
