according to my information the numbers upon collar-patches officially should always be embroidered
(cotton Kettenstich/Kurbelstickerei). Since the summer of 1939 embroidery took place according Plattstich.
The symbol for Nachrichten was allowed in metal.
Another remark: there did NOT exist a Standarte 7 at Westmark or Niedersachsen. Anyway after April
1937 not anymore. Before that date a Standarte 7 did exist at Westmark, but it hardly will have had
four Sturm-units with signals (Nachrichten).
The brownshirt in this way is doubtful.
I have seen maube just a handfull of rabs with metal numbers that I believed to be real. These do not give me that feeling. Also, I dont like the construction of the tabs themselves. They seem to be almost made of wool?
IMO the shirt itself is original but the insignia, as noted above, is fake and has been added. It was against regulations to have the collar tabs machine sewn to the brownshirt and, since they needed to be removed when the shirt was laundered, it makes no sense to be machine sewn to the collar. They should be tacked to the collar. The shoulder board and shoulder board button are IMO also fake and the piping doesn't look period. Thread loops are also added. The mannequin looks much better than those we have in the states.

The mannequin used in note #1 is one of the best I've ever seen -- so detailed and lifelike! So, regardless of the views of the Traditions Brown Shirt and SA Uniform Breeches, the SA Kepi, the SA Standard Service Dagger, the belt, the buckle and the cross-strap, the brassard or anything else in this photo, I give the mannequin 100%!
