Is the DE pole shown in your note #5 below from your own collection? If it is, then you can tell whether the '29 RPT Badge tacked to the pole is the same dimensions as the '29 event badge, or whether it's the same size as the '29 Medallion. And you could probably tell whether that badge on the pole was originally gilded or if it was left with the original finish.

Br James, the badge on the poles details do not match the one Mil posted but it does match the details of the NP badge.

Thanks for that reminder, Mil, and I now see that you mentioned Bob Hritz' ownership of that DE staff previously. Bob is a valued and contributing member here, so it would be most helpful if he could provide measurement details from his artifact to add to this discussion.

And thanks, too, to Erich for observing the difference between the previously-shown examples. It is natural to think that Höffstetter or whoever made the version of the '29 RPT Badge for use on DE Standard staffs would have used the already-existing format in order to easily provide this new version, and to create a hollow example does make sense. But what is 'obvious' is not always the way things work out!

Lets hope to hear more detail from our friend and colleague, Bob Hritz!
