It is machine embroidered, has an unusual backing, but it looks original to me.

Thanks for your help it's much appreciated.
The backing is hbt material. I was told it would have been worn on a nsdap work cap.
I was just wandering what such a cap would look like.
      Cheers

An unusual piece... It resembles the PL Diamond worn on the left uniform tunic sleeve in the early 1930s, but it's not that diamond. Could it be from an SA Overseas Cap??

Thanks to you both i really appreciate the info and help.
James I've seen this style eagle with black backing on this forum on a early ss-vt overseas cap just curious as to what cap a green back one would be used on.
jmcm is the cap you posted a work cap? what would the eagle you posted be described as it appears embroidered but national symbol appears to look bevo style.
            Cheers
            Dave.

The cap was a HJ early cap I once owned.

Both eagles do have similar traits, it would be nice to see a image of mine on a cap.

This type of eagle was worn by various organizations, other then HJ and political with a specific backing.
It was worn by the DLV for example, but also with the NPEA and or Waisenhaus-institutions, specific camps and so on. It was even worn by the Hans-Kerrl-Lager.
I guess the shown one with post 1 is for NPEA or such.

                    Thanks Wilhelm
Your info has been very helpful it's helped me find a few images on the net.One of a NSFK man wearing a beret with similar pattern eagle and a picture with one used as a sleeve eagle.
And here is a link to the same style eagle on collectors guild but on a triangular shaped backing

Here is another image of a very early SA marine cap insignia with same construction on the swastika and reef.
                      Cheers
