A fellow collector has Hans Goebbels' SA-Oberfuehrer uniform and displayed it at the 2016 SOS. A book about H. Goebbels' fate, Im Schatten "Grandgoschiers", has also been published. According to the uniform's current owner (and it may be confirmed in the book), Hans Goebbels was captured in civilian clothes by the Americans who made him put on the uniform for press photos that included interrogation scenes. Hans Goebbels was then handed over to the French and died in captivity of an untreated infection (according to accounts in the book).

I was there, but did not see it--do you (or anyone else) have photos of the uniform?

An interesting story, paulj, though a bit hard to believe that Hans Goebbels' captors would actually go to the trouble of locating his SA Oberführer uniform -- though without his necktie! -- and forcing him to put it on just for photos! One wonders why Arthur Greiser wasn't treated the same way...?

Paul is correct. I also know who has the uniform.

Hans Goebbels was treated extremely badly by the French. They forced him to bark like a dog to get fed. He died from a minor infection that could have been easily treated, but his French captors refused him any medical attention.
