I don 't have pictures of a real one. I believe they were of gilded silver or real gold and were made like a real piece of jewellery. Most, if not all, offered on dealer sites are fakes.

I found this in my files... Some advanced collectors even daren't to buy one unless it comes straight from the family of the original owner. I'm aware of one such original which is still in the hands of the son of the recipient.

Although this one was called a fake when I posted it for the first time, I'm sure it is NOT. Part of the estate of a family I know very well and given to me as a gift (including many other items and also the award-docs).

Personally I like all the posted pieces after the fake that started this thread. And I guess that the lucky owners can feel with their hands and see with their own eyes the quality of the real stuff, something that not always can be captured in a photograph.
