    Parteibuch Kurt Bellmann

I have recently seen on auktion this Parteibuch "Kurt Bellmann". Original document?

From Wikipedia: At the University of Kiel , Bellmann studied law and became with the dissertation published in 1924 the securities rewards business from the point of view of their ineffectiveness: A contribution to the teaching of futures to Dr. Ing. jur. doctorate . He began his legal career as an assistant judge at the Local Court, Land and Higher Regional Court Kiel until October 1, 1938. Immediately thereafter, he was transferred to the Hanover Regional Court , where he served as district court director and chairman of a criminal division. On 1 May 1933 he became a member of the NSDAP . In Kiel and Hanover Bellmann was used as block leader of the NSDAP. At the Sondergericht Hannover Bellmann was formally from April 1940 to December 31, 1943 as chairman of the department. [2]

On July 25, 1946 he was handed over to the authorities in Pilsen. He was then transferred to Prague in Pankrác Prison. At the trial of his work at the Special Court in Prague, he was able to prove his participation in four death sentences by means of available evidence. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in a prison in Pilsen. In 1955 he was transferred to the Federal Republic of Germany as a non-official war criminal (registered under number A-38/62 in Czechoslovakia).

Yes, it appears to be original to me, and in quite nice condition.

What is surprising is he was issued an early Party book, despite his joining the Party so late.

This is a pre-1933 style Party book.

"This is a pre-1933 style Party book."

Thanks for adding this detail, Gary. The title page of this book is not shown in the previous pix. The Ausgabe (edition) appears at the bottom of the title page in every NSDAP Membership Book; the various editions were dated 1927, 1932, 1933, 1935 and 1939. That said, I assume that the National Treasurer's Office used up their stock of whatever edition they had on hand before they began issuing the next edition to new or continuing members, and this person's membership date of May 1, 1933 was very early in terms of the 1933 edition...or very late in terms of the use of the 1932 edition!

          Cheers,

          Br. James

I know this is a old thread, but just wanted to point out how great of a post this was. Great information James. Do you have examples of the different editions?

Old thread, but reading I wonder if the Bellmann in the Wiki is the same as the man of the membersip book and PL ausweis. The Ausweis is dated 1936 and was issued in Gau Sachsen when according to Wiki the guy was supposed to be in Kiel.

Just saw this, too. His Beruf is listed as Bürobeamter (civil servant of an agency or office) in this book. I agree with JoeW; t appears it's a different individual. Still a nice clean set.

Sorry, TooDeep, but I don't have photos of the title pages of the various editions of the NSDAP Membership Book...perhaps Joe or others here do?
