    AH repro silverware

    Hello, Is anyone aware of any reproduction AH silverware that may be floating around, formal or informal patterns??

    I've only seen a very poorly copied formal demitasse spoon....it was awful and obviously a poor cast.

      I'm not personally aware of any, but I recall that Mike ("Berghof") has mentioned seeing a fake AH Formal Pattern demitasse spoon previously.

        Years ago there was mention of the demitasse spoons being reproduced--it was either in the Gauleiter or a Manion's newsletter, if I recall correctly.

          A few months back I was informed by an experienced collector in Germany that these and other silver items continued to be produced after das Kriegsende by Hermann und Franz Wandinger.

          He sent me the following link of interest from the Süddeutsche Zeitung.

            Hello. In the article SZ does not write anything about the fact that they produced them after the war.

              The Wandinger brothers -- silver and goldsmiths who maintained a high-end jewelry and gift shop in Munich -- were the retail source of the monogrammed silverware manufactured by the Bruckmann and Wellner cutlery firms for Hitler's tables, as well as other NSDAP bigwigs, the German Railway System and many other retailers. Martin Bormann ordered the AH Formal (State) Pattern and the AH Informal Pattern tableware through the shop owned by the Wandinger brothers, commercially known as “F.H. Wani, Goldschmeide.”

              As grygierek2 noted, there is nothing in the auction advertisement provided by Hadenuph that indicates what was being offered was "fake" or reproduced after the war. The AH Formal Pattern silverware appears to be from the period.

                Has anyone ever come across Bruckmann knives, forks etc in the same style as formal pattern pieces (with Greek key outline) but without the AH monogram?
