    OPINIONS Please on Staffelführer Armband

I would appreciate opinions on this one. Is this an original Staffelführer armband?
The stripe does run fully under the roundel so it was applied before the roundel and swastika were sewn on.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

      Hi Ed,

Hope you're doing well and that your house survived the storm OK.

I think one of the problems with this pattern of armband is that they are early (pre-RZM) so there will be variances in their appearance (size of the circle, width of the band forming the swastika etc..) and that will cause difficulty for comparison purposes.

I'm assuming you blacklighted it? Not that a negative UV result will indicate authenticity, it will at least provide a data point in its favor. I trust there is no RZM tag in it, correct??

Construction-wise it looks very convincing in how professionally all parts are sewn etc..

Here's a link to one on the War Relics Forum that is literally identical and did not get good reviews by some very knowledgeable dudes. http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/nsdap-...rmband-287343/

Good luck buddy and hope to see you at "Really Sorry" again some time soon. If it's no good maybe you could flog it off to our buddy in Pirate Voodoo

      Miss ya brotha!

        Hi Rob,

I wrote this fairly long reply to you but I posted it under "report" message or something by accident. Frankly, I find this forum the most difficult to use (probably me) relative to the others I'm on. Only 2 photos...difficult to reply without going to previous post to select something or another....cumbersome (in my opinion) but I know it's forum a lot of people use so I'm on it.

Please send me your e-mail as I accidently deleted it cleaning up old e-mails.

I will send you a message once I have your e-mail.

It was great to hear from you....I miss you too...we gotta' go hear ..."voodoo man"..
        lol

        Miss you too.

          Ed,
I have yet to see/handle an original WWII period German manufactured armband of any kind that used the zigzag material to make the stripe on this or any armband. The zigzag material has been a favorite for many of the forgers/reproduction artists on many fantasy NSFK, DLV, DDAC, HJ, SS, etc. armbands and is used extensively on countless fake early political leader armbands with the white stripes prior to the adaptation of the gold bullion striped and leaved armbands (see attached examples). I believe it is called a herringbone pattern, on the white stripe.
That pattern was never used in period pieces in my experience.
