I dont like it, i think the artist (very likely Thorsten/Quicky?) ****ed up again.

What's a GNST???? Should be either gAst of gUnst!

"Mindert die sorgen ein lebendiger gast", maybe related to the Edda, but imo way too far sought. I dont have my books with me, but no need to look up the saying anyway.

Wait, a makers mark on the reverse? Another Thorsten invention? Something real perhaps? Or maybe even copied too by him or his alias Quicky? IMO there is no way AT ALL to prove these as original Third Reich period. These plates have been around for at least 200 years and even still today.

No one seems to want to listen, we have Thorsten still selling these items on the e-stand on an almost daily basis and the forum wants to be cheated from their money with WAF allowing this on purpose. Of course he likes and calls these Original in every thread like this one he sees appearing on WAF. And with every thread there is more false information, not bad for a thief.... it must be good to make and sell these as real ;-) I wonder: who of the WAF membership dares to step forward and show their Thorsten plates??? (Steve, not you this time to the rescue of Thorsten, let others try and sweat now...! We'll talk about tapestries and wrought iron later if needed.)

Here's two more examples, 29 euro's only, better be quick and buy them while you can, tomorrow Thorsten/Quicky either makes them (again) in his woodshop or buys these from Ebay and sells them with another WWII fable story on the e-stand for only 400 euro again.

        Happy Collecting

Here is another just like yours, imo fake too, at the moment as we speak offered for only 350 euros on the Estand by Thorsten/Quickie. And you know the best part is that only paying WAF members can buy there

            Hi,

like Gaston said, there is NO way to prove that this is period made.
And there is not direct connection to the SS...

Those kinds of plates are available in all the Germanic world, were done before, during and also after WWII. You can even find some in Alsace for a few euros.
They are still produced today, and are still big sellers in rural Germany. Various models exist.

The SS "stole" the völkisch "way of life", and if some SS were used to have such wooden plates actually they were only a small percentage of Germans that had them.

            See You

            Vince

                  Vince ,

Instead of repeating your mantra time and time again, can you please be more specific now and explain what exactly do you mean by " those kinds of plates" ? Made of wood? Having carved messages ? Round shape ? Natural color? All of the above?
Please do that and perhaps I may even join your with jubnus dynamic duo .

                        It is a nice plate.

The 'A' is absolutely fine for that maker, it's not an N at all.

The spiral adds to the pagan feel of the piece. Quit unlike the Christian ("daily bread") sentiment of the eBay linked pieces.

I'd be happy to have it on the shelf.
