There's nothing like this design in Jim Yannes' "The Encyclopedia of Third Reich Tableware," thought there are other HJ designs shown in that reference work. This set was probably custom-made for some event or special presentation. The forks are silver-plated, not solid silver, so the cost to the original purchaser would have been for the engraving and for the custom case, not for the implements themselves. Sets like this one could be purchased at most any good jeweler's shop and whatever the purchaser wanted to be engraved would have been accommodated. It's a nice, appealing set.

Cutlery is a fake. Actually, this is not even a scam. This is a fancy product. Jim Yannes is full of counterfeits. This is not a good book.
