    HJ Uniform

    Hi,

I am trying to put a HJ (brown) uniform together. What are the things I need to look out for? Almost every shirt I encounter has been stripped. There are some with the triangle intact and I am guessing they need to match with the shoulder boards. Most of them do not even have the buttons for the shoulder boards. Are there also shirts without the shoulder boards? Hope you can point me in the right directions for some information.

    HJ Shirt

The best advice you'll get all day - be patient...save your money.......and buy an original HJ brownshirt. They're not that expensive, at least compared to some uniforms. You'll be MUCH HAPPIER in the end............because no matter how much you save....you'll always know it was "put-together", and that will forever disappoint you.
NOW....when you DO find one, run it by the forum, and people can tell you if the shoulder strap numbers and the triangle patch all match.
    That's what we're here for.
Take this advice from someone who's BEEN THERE.....putting shirts together.....but never that happy no matter HOW NICE they turn out.

      Hi,

I think you absolute right, but it is very difficult to find one intact and if I do they ask a lot of money for it.

Most H.J. uniforms that come to the market are put together or restored, sometimes correctly, but put together. I've only seen a few uniforms in the last several years that I personally felt were not put together.

Therein lies the challenge.........the same goes for ANY 3rd-Reich uniform.
BUT........imagine if you were a collector before the internet and the help from Forum members was accessible........
We're here to assist you once you locate a uniform. Determining whether it's original is sometimes impossible, but if you assemble it yourself, then you KNOW it's not original. If you buy a complete shirt, at least it has a chance to be original, and there guys here with info as to whether the sleeve triangle and shoulderstraps all match up properly.
            Check:
            WAF E-Stand
            Collector's Guild
            German War Booty
            Helmut Weitze
            Jessen's Relics
Perhaps other members can suggest more........

Yes, you are right, but most of them are without either the triangle or the shoulderboards. I can live with one of these two missing, but not with both. And the majority of the HJ shirts are missing both.

What do you all think about the HJ shirt on Estand? Looks fainted and maybe I am wrong, but the triangle looks like BDM?
