    fake insignia?

    Hello all,

I came across this insignia on some random website and I can't say I've ever seen anything like it. I suspect it to be a fake but that is just my opinion

    Thoughts?

The photos are cleverly very small considered to almost all of the other images on the site so it surely looks like the seller knows it isn't right and perhaps doesn't want the buyer to really see what they're looking at.

        Hello,

I do not care for the construction of the eagle.

Collectors guild calls it a political/SA eagle:

          http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Polit...s/N021969.html

Construction is unusual with reverse threads not on eagle but on surrounding material (similar to one type of fake ss sleeve eagle).

Fred - have you ever seen this on an original piece?

I have 2 of these on a strip, can post better pics tonite. They do have a nice "limp" feel to them.

            Fred,

Can you show us yours? Does it have jagged cut edges like the one on the guild?

Thread placement and lack of twisting is a worry about these, as said they are similar to a style of fake SS eagles.

William you are free to share the link on any item of mine on my "random website..."

                        www.lindamaemilitaria.com

I personally liked the piece and so did Peter, if Fred Green does not like it tho then that is all I personally need to hear to remove it from my site.

                        Thanks,
                        Blaine

Willi Zahn doesn't seem too keen on this fake either so you should probably pull this down:

Very clever of you to put the small photos on the website and price the items way too cheap had they been originals.

Linda Mae Militaria seems to be posting a lot if reproductions for sale lately. That's several in the past two months.

I hope you refunded the buyer of this reproduction as well Blaine Anthony Leamon and in my opinion the fakes need to stop.

William this cap insignia was listed on a respected dealers site that is also a forum sponser as shown in the previous link...Unlike yourself I prefer to do my own research as best as possible and not post every item on here asking "is it authentic?"

To say I have posted several fakes in the last few months is a bold face lie tho...The way you go out of your way to discredit anyone doing better than you and say untrue statements like "I stumbled across this on some random website" is comical to say the least...

Best advice I can give you William is focus on getting your reputation back after being listed on this shamed list in the link bellow and I will worry about my website and customers...Also for future refrence if you click on any photo on my site it blows the image up even larger. And last but not least after the SS buckle slipped through of course I refunded the buyer immediately. If you look a little closer you'll see on my site all items have a no nonsense money back guarantee....
