          Thanks chaps , so like most medals of the TR , they started off in fine materials like bronze and ended up using Zinc . Rob

            Very nice piece, Rob. The backing is field gray material, which means that this bar was intended to be worn on an Army, a Police, a W-SS or other uniform tunic of that color.
