    wall eagles

    Hello,
if I search for wall eagles I find a lot of threads mostly relateted to one special piece. What I miss is a general thread for wall eagles which can be found easily. I thought we should build up such a thread for all the original wall eagles we have in our collections. And maybe another one for desk eagles. What do You guys think?
Well, after showing some of my eagles in other threads over the time already let's start this thread with my latest akquisition which was offered to me yesterday and which I could not let fly away.

This one is probably an early piece, made from heavy bronze and with a wingspan of 45 cm (17,7 inches). It has no maker marks, so probably pre-RZM.

Hope You enjoy and participate with Your eagles.

    Best regards, Thomas

An exciting piece, Thomas, and I agree that it's an early one!

    Congrats,

Thanks for the compliment and thank You Rick for the link. Now I remember to have seen that thread before. So probably no need for a new thread on wall eagles I guess.

          Another beautiful wall eagle Thomas.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that you have the greatest collection of Third Reich wall and desk eagles in the world. The eagle examples in your collection are the rarest and finest quality of any I have ever seen in all of my years collecting and researching them. I am so pleased that you are willing to share them with us - you really have a talent for searching out and finding the most exceptional examples.

I think we should request the thread mentioned by Rick C (below) be pinned here by a moderator so we can all see these and more of your wonderful eagles in the one place on the WAF.

          Cheers,
          Michael

            Hello Mike,
thank You very much! Your compliment means a lot to me. I did not really look for these eagles in particular. It's more that I've been at the right place at the right time. Also some dealer friends know, that I am interested, so... Still looking for a Kriegsmarine eagle. And there are many other great variants out there.
I am sure if we had an easy to find pinned thread it would encourage others to show many more eagles. To choose the link is a good idea. But maybe it should be renamed.
            Best regards, Thomas
