What uniform is this man wearing?

What uniform is this man wearing? Thanks

Appears to be some sort of early SA uniform. Very interesting the blank 'unit' tab and a rank tab. I wish I had my copy of Saris's Headgear book with me. You might find a photo with this configuration though I do not believe this was authorized. Look forward to other opinions.

He's wearing a Stahlhelm uniform during the absorption of that organization by the SA. The St. members were allowed to wear portions of their prior uniforms until they could afford an SA uniform.

Thank you guys. I assumed it might be Stahlhelm but the visor cap with a cockade and wreath made me unsure. Did the cockade and wreath possibly signify he was attached to the SA Marine? Are there photos of the same type of cap worn by the Stahlhelm before or during the transition into the SA? Thanks

The SA Marine had the eagle inside of the wreath which could have been done here. So all the cocades wouldnt have made sense. Hopefully thats not too confusing.

I have a lot of photos of the SA Marine in my collection that confirms what you wrote. Just trying to make sense of the wreath. Thanks Squidney

I have to say I'm sure this guy is a Stahlhelm member but you're right--usually they wore 2 cockades with the eagle between (as they were being forced to integrate with the SA) and no cockade. Why he's wearing the cockade I'm not sure without doing some research.

Oops--I meant the wreath= I don't know why he's wearing the wreath instead of just 2 cockades and the eagle (which is normal).
