    Reichsparteitag Nürnberg 1933

    Hi,

I would like to show you this badge. What do you think about the hardware? I know that the gold pin was added, but what about the plate with loops? I never saw this hardware. Is it only replacement or does anyone know this design?

    Any opinions welcome.

    Best regards
    Pavel

As Erich B. said, I too have never seen any replacement pin assembly like this one...but of course that doesn't mean that this replacement pin was attached to this badge at some time following 1945.

Lovely 1933 piece. The custom pin does make it more interesting.

          Pin

          Definitely an original badge.
The pin is just a (likely post-war) repair.
The original pin was basically soldered right to the brass...and many times, rather flimsily. I'm not sure the solid brass badge was even grooved for the pin. If it was, the groove was very shallow. I have the identical badge with orig. pin, and it's pretty much just laying on top of the brass and soldered.
Personally, I prefer the tinnie version - the solid version is too heavy.
Badge is very nice - the repair doesn't keep it from displaying nicely.
1933 vintage - IMO, the early stuff is the best1

            Pin

PS: There was some speculation on WAF as to whether or not this was an official award, like the 1929 Nurnberg Badge. Some claim it is, but I don't think so.....
Otherwise, you'd see more of them being worn after 1933....

                Just a theory!

What if the three loops were put on there so the badge could be sewn to a uniform?
kind of like a button, and then at some point the badge was removed from said uniform and the pin was added. If the pin catch was bent temporarily it could have easily been slid under the loops and then returned to its position once it was put in place and soldered. Just a thought to toss around.

The 33 badge was considered a traditions badge and was not in the same category as the 29 badge which was an actual official honor award of the party like the Blood Order and Coburg badge.
The 29 badge also predates the GPB, BO and CB which makes it a very early award award of the Kampfzeit.

And I suppose that as a traditions badge, a mini or stickpin version was never made unlike the 29 which had a rare stickpin type?

I haven't ever seen a mini of the 33 badge.

Has anyone seen a non portable of the 33 badge?
