Well, what we know from what we can see in this piece is that it is a stainless steel spoon -- possibly a soup spoon -- which bears the name of the Original Eickhorn cutlery firm of Solingen. The engraved eagle on the handle is not representative of any known logo design that I am familiar with, so I quickly flipped through James Yannes' "The Encyclopedia of Third Reich Tableware" looking for this particular eagle design and also the cutlery pattern, but I found nothing there. That said, this piece could have been made up as a service for any number of organizations -- political or civil -- during the Third Reich era, or it could be a piece made up post-war in an effort to mislead collectors into paying a lot of money for a cheap piece of stainless tableware. Anyone finding a single spoon like this could take it to a jeweler and have the eagle design engraved onto the handle -- and voila! A bona fide war souvenir! While I am not convinced that that is what we are looking at here, I have no other evidence that this piece was created during the Third Reich, either.

Without any further provenance, we can tell very little about this piece from just what we see here.
